A farewell gift
I made this as a farewell gift for a colleague as a table centre or runner. She is going to use it as a wall hanging so I am now adding a hanging sleeve. It was appreciated all done in NZ fabrics and log cabin. I have extra squares and am planning to make another one for myself.

Bibs to welcome a new baby
I have been busy making bibs and embroidering their names on them. last week I made 4 and forgot to photograph before giving them away. These are similar except that I now unpick the velcro and put snaps on them as mothers said they scratched the babies neck. These are ready made bibs but I make them now.

I find babies names are more unusual now and parents are happy to have a personalised gift with their particular name. Recently I have done Arthur,Harrison, Drew, Seb and so it goes on.

A bit of Lace

I have an Embroidery machine which stitches files to produce many lovely items. Here are some examples of Freestanding lace which I have played around with.
I have given lots of these away and people seem to appreciate them.

Lace Bookmarks
Lace Bootees
I am looking forward to a break from work in order to play around with a few more items.
I think the bootees could be good to put on cards or to add to memorabilia.

Starting again

As you can see from the last post I didn't get very far on my New Year blog. Today I decided to start again and after much fiddle I now can access this again. The picture I posted is not a tile on the ground but I will learn how to do this. (I hope anyway) Have a good day and I hope to see you again soon.

Starting up

This is a new thing for me. It is January 1st 2011 and I would like to give it a go.
I am thinking that I want to be better at working through designs in my embroidery.
I would like to think that I may make discoveries along the way that would help me and possibly others on this journey. I think it could be like "Julie and Julia" which was quite an inspiration to me. I know that I don't have a recipe book to follow through but work out some to try in advance would be good.
